The Hopton Crown is a genuinely special place to mark an occasion. Whether you're planning an intimate dinner for a dozen people or a larger celebration that fills the whole pub, we can make it work — and we'll do it without the rigid packages and event coordinator jargon that makes private hire feel like a corporate exercise.
Private Dining in the Rent Room
The Rent Room is available for exclusive private hire for dinners, lunches and celebrations. It seats up to 30 guests comfortably around a single table or in a more relaxed arrangement, and it has the kind of atmosphere — old stone, warm lighting, proper history — that you simply can't replicate in a function room.
We'll work with you on the menu. We cook seasonally and from local produce, so what we serve will reflect the time of year and what's genuinely good rather than a set banquet formula. We can do a sharing menu, a plated dinner, or something in between.
Full Venue Hire
For larger events — birthday parties, family celebrations, team gatherings — we can talk about full venue hire. The Crown has indoor and outdoor space, a full kitchen, and 18 bedrooms if your guests want to stay over. Having the whole place to yourselves, with a fire going and everyone staying the night, makes for a very good party.
Weddings & Celebrations
We're not a dedicated wedding venue, but we've hosted some very happy occasions for smaller wedding parties and celebrations that wanted something personal rather than polished. If you're thinking about it, get in touch and we'll have an honest conversation about what we can and can't do.
