Where are we?
On Hopton Bank, Shropshire. Easier to find than you'd think.
The Hopton Crown sits on the B4364 at Hopton Bank — the road that climbs from Cleobury Mortimer up through the folds of the Shropshire Hills towards Ludlow. You'll know you're getting close when the road starts to rise and the views open out across the Clee Hill plateau. The pub appears on your left, stone-built and unmistakable, with parking in front.
It's one of those locations that feels genuinely off the beaten track without actually being difficult to reach. Birmingham is just over an hour away. Worcester is 45 minutes. Ludlow — with its castle, its market and its reputation for food — is a 15-minute drive. The Shropshire Hills AONB begins, for most purposes, at the front door.
